Gian Floris
I joined Gould & Swayne as a trainee solicitor in 2006 and qualified as a Solicitor in August 2008. After qualifying I specialised in commercial property and employment law but have since become heavily involved in civil and commercial litigation.
Litigation, or what is now more commonly known as dispute resolution, is my real passion. Both during my training and since qualifying I have dealt with and resolved a variety of matters including:
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- Boundary disputes
- Contractual disputes
- Building disputes
- Insolvency related matters
- Employment disputes
- Commercial conveyencing
- Business transfers
By bringing together my experience in these areas I am able to offer both businesses and individuals advice on a broad range of legal matters and offer them one solicitor to deal with rather than several.
I believe in offering clients a tailored service to meet their needs. I recognise that some clients will be new to legal services and find the whole process quite daunting. I always take time to explain the process and explore what it is they are looking to achieve by instructing me.
Litigation can be expensive and therefore it is important to consider the funding options available to clients before litigation proceeds. Most of the work I do is privately funded but other funding options may include before and after the event insurance and conditional fee agreements. Costs and funding options are always discussed at the outset of every matter.
Before qualifying as a solicitor I obtained a Degree in International Business and Law and Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Central Lancashire.
