CoPPA is a multi-disciplinary organisation whose aims are to consolidate good practice and develop good practice in the Court of Protection (COP) and in the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. They primarily seek to do this through education and training and by active representation of members on court user committees. Birmingham is an exceptionally busy regional hub for COP work. The region boosts numerous specialised solicitors in this discipline and a thriving mental capacity professional community. The team made new contacts with Barristers, private practice solicitors, local authority solicitors, advocates and judges and found the event a useful platform for promoting our specialist COP team in Warwickshire.
