Congratulations to Barwells Partner Stephen Ash who completed his 200 mile charity bike ride from London to Amsterdam.
Stephen raised over £1,400 for Barnardos as part of their 150 years celebration.
He rode through a range of weather conditions - sun, rain and swirling winds. Taking in a variety of landscapes through the city of London, the Essex countryside, Dutch sand dunes before arriving in Amsterdam trying to dodge the trams.
The days were long, setting off at 7.30am and riding all day. Aching legs and a little saddle sore but he made it unscathed. Stephen said ‘it was a tough few days and a real challenge to complete, particularly when dodging the city traffic and then battling swirling winds along the Dutch coast. Huge sense of achievement in completing the ride and so pleased we’ve been able to raise over £1,400 for Barnardos. I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen some of the fantastic projects supported by Barnardos and the positive difference they can make to children’s lives. Thank you to everyone who has offered their support or made a donation.
