Seeking the services of an experienced divorce lawyer in Manchester can help spouses split more amicably. One celebrity who reached a speedy conclusion to their marriage this week was presenter Denise Van Outen.
The former Big Breakfast star was granted a divorce from husband Lee Mead in just 90 seconds at the Central Family Court. Van Outen and actor Mead have a five-year-old daughter named Betsy together, and they claim to still be good friends despite the failure of their romantic relationship.
The pair separated in 2013 and cited the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage as grounds for the divorce. District Judge Heather MacGregor ended their six years as husband and wife in a three-minute hearing.
Van Outen and Mead have not lived together since announcing the split two years ago. In a recent interview regarding the break-up, 41-year-old Van Outen said she had "no regrets" marrying Lee, adding that he is a "lovely person".
"There was no big fall out and we got each other through really. We're friends so we supported each other," she explained to the Sun.
Van Outen previously had a three-year relationship with Jamiroquai's lead singer Jay Kay and is now dating commodities trader Eddie Boxshall. Her divorce from Mead can be made absolute within six weeks, at which point both celebrities are free to remarry.
The news comes just weeks after Rowan Atkinson also secured a 'quickie' divorce from his wife of 25 years Sunetra Sastry. Court documents claimed Atkinson's unreasonable behaviour was the reason for the split.
