Phil Collins’ ex wife Orianne Cevey is set to enter a bitter divorce battle with her current husband days after it was revealed she has rekindled her romance with the singer.
The 43-year-old is planning to end her marriage to investment banker Charles Fouad Mejjati, with whom she has a five-year-old son – something many people consulting divorce lawyers in Stockport will be familiar with.
It is likely the couple will dispute the ownership of a property in Miami worth £6 million that she had bought in 2012. However, she signed the real estate over to her husband in May 2015, an agreement she wants to nullify alleging she was on strong painkillers at the time for a botched back operation and cannot remember doing this.
According to the court complaint: “She has no recollection of ever signing it before it was recorded in the Miami-Dade County public record, transferring to the husband the wife’s interest in and to the marital residence.”
Orianne, her son by Mejjati and her two sons by the 65-year-old rocker had been living in the property since the summer.
Collins and Orianne formally split six years ago in a divorce agreement that broke records. He ended up paying £25 million in the settlement, which was the largest divorce payout in Britain at the time.
They ended their marriage in 2008 after seven years as husband and wife, and twelve as a couple.
However, they have reunited recently and have been living together in Miami for the last few months.
Collins has lost a lot of money in his divorces over the years, having paid out £42 million to three wives since 1980.
