About Angharad and Gareth
Angharad works in the Family Law department in the Barry office alongside Partner, Tim Hackett. She specializes in care proceedings, both public and privately funded.
Tim said, “It is a pleasure to appoint Angharad as a new associate. It is a testament to her outstanding achievements and her approachable personality. She has worked incredibly hard to attain the very best outcomes for all her clients especially in these extremely challenging times for families.”
Gareth Davies works with Jeremy Davies, Partner, in the Conveyancing Department. He covers residential conveyancing at our Penarth office and also attends clients at our Barry office.
“Gareth has managed the pressure of the Stamp Duty and Land Transaction Tax deadlines and the impact of Covid-19 on conveyancing transactions with exceptional care and skill. His dedication is rightly reflected in his promotion to position of associate at J A Hughes,” said Jeremy.
Angharad’s background
Angharad joined J A Hughes’ Family Law department in 2018. Before joining the firm, she worked for a family, children and mental health law practice in Cardiff where she gained extensive experience in family matters.
Prior to specializing in family law, she was a personal injury solicitor for a national trade union firm for twelve years. She decided to change to family law because she finds it rewarding to help people to find legal and practical solutions to their difficulties. Angharad is passionate about enabling all members of society to have equal access to justice.
Angharad qualified as a solicitor in 2002 after completing her law degree at the University of Glamorgan and the Legal Practice Course.
Angharad says…
“I am thankful for the incredible support I have received at J A Hughes that has allowed me to progress my career. I am excited to be able to make an even greater contribution to the continuing success of our team.”
Gareth’s background
Gareth joined J A Hughes in 2017 as a paralegal. He then went on to complete his training contract and qualified as a solicitor in 2019.
Prior to joining the firm Gareth worked as a paralegal in several Cardiff-based law firms and undertook a period of voluntary work experience. During this time, he developed strong skills in residential conveyancing working with individuals, companies and housing associations.
Gareth studied law at Swansea University and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2013. His interest in law started when he was still at secondary school in Pengam, where he demonstrated a real passion and flare for the subject.
Gareth says…
“I am delighted to be promoted to Associate Solicitor. Since I joined the firm, I have enjoyed building on my experience and contributing to the success of the department. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to challenge myself and I am very much looking forward to the next chapter.”
