Francesca Coates

Education

Francesca completed her secondary education and A-Levels at Cowbridge Comprehensive School. Francesca began her studies of law at Swansea University and graduated with an Upper Second-Class Honours Degree in June 2023. During her studies at Swansea University, Francesca undertook a module at the Swansea Law Clinic, and offered free legal advice to members of the public. Francesca went on to complete the Bar Training Course, at Cardiff University, where she achieved a grade of Very Competent. Francesca has competed in mock trial competitions and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. She regularly attends training sessions hosted by the Inner Temple to further her legal knowledge and skills. Francesca hopes to qualify as a Barrister.

Career

Francesca has gained experience in Criminal and Family law, through court marshalling and mini-pupillages. Francesca also worked for an Insurance company, dealing with third-party property damage claims. Francesca worked in the hospitality sector throughout her studies, and was the Social Secretary of the Swansea University Netball Society, 2022-23. Francesca began working for J A Hughes in March 2025.

Personal

In Francesca’s spare time, she enjoys socialising with friends and family. She also enjoys taking her dog for walks, going to the gym and reading.
