Arranging for your children to live with you

Stopping your partner doing something ( prohibited steps order )

Our Family lawyers are experienced in helping parents make arrangements for children following the breakdown of a relationship. We will make sure that everyone involved understands their legal rights and responsibilities whilst ensuring that the views of you and your children are considered.

The first stage is to talk to you and get to know about your situation where we will explain the process and take care of any referrals or initial correspondence that is necessary. This is also your opportunity to explain all of the details that are specific and important to your children and to your own, personal circumstances.

In most cases mediation is required when parents and families are unable to reach an agreement by themselves. We will assist parties to reach an amicable agreement. When this is not possible an application for Child Arrangements may be necessary to determine or agree with whom the children should live with, and how much time they should spend with parents and families.

Our charges for preparing a child arrangements application are  £350 plus VAT with an additional court fee of £215.00 to pay. You may qualify for a court fee exemption depending on your monthly income and amount of your savings. Should you require representation at court our initial fees are £450 plus VAT. Any further work will be chargable in accordance with our fees guide.

There may be further costs once you have gone through the first stage, depending on whether further hearings are required  however, we will be in a better position to advise you fully of what to expect when you have attended our offices for your first consultation.

The aim is to achieve a tailored and balanced result for you and your family with the least complication and expense possible. Our family law solicitors are experienced in helping parents and families make arrangements for children following the breakdown of a relationship. We’ll make sure that everyone involved understands their legal rights and responsibilities whilst ensuring that the views of you and your children are heard.

Of course, children have practical needs as well as emotional ones and it can sometimes be difficult to focus on the best practical solutions when a relationship has broken down. But our family solicitors will bring clarity to your situation. We’ll clearly explain what arrangements for children need to be considered and help you put things in place to create a more stable and happy future for you and your children.

At Quality Solicitors Jordans we use plain English - not legal jargon. We’ll explain everything in a way that’s clear and easy to understand. Divorce

When your relationship breaks down it is never easy but we are here to help you through the Divorce process and get you to the place you now need to be

Domestic violence

If you’re in a relationship that isn't working for you, either because you feel threatened or are with a violent or abusive partner, it can be difficult to know where to turn to for help - but it’s important not to suffer in silence. Asking for help is the first step to resolving the situation.

Financial Matters

The matrimonial finances in a marriage can be complicated and when there is a relationship breakdown it can be difficult to know how all the assets and liabilities should be divided. When there are children involved the situation can become further complicated and stressful for everyone.

Living Together Agreements

More and more couples are choosing to live together and share their lives without getting married. And whilst emotionally, you may feel no different to a married couple; under the law, couples that live together without getting married do not share the same legal rights as those who marry. This can make things difficult if the relationship breaks down in the future particularly in regards to finance and property, and if children are involved, it’s important to protect their future too.

Prenuptial Agreements

Planning a wedding is an exciting time - and also a time when you start thinking about your long-term future. You’re probably looking forward to a long and happy marriage but it’s also natural to wonder what unexpected twists and turns life might bring.

Separation Agreements

Making the decision to end a relationship and separate is rarely easy and sometimes you may need professional legal help to ensure the separation process is handled fairly. Whether you’re facing a marriage separation or are ending a relationship after living together, it’s likely that you’ll have lots of questions and concerns. You’ll want to know what will happen regarding your home, possessions and finances. And if children are involved, you’ll want to ensure that their wellbeing is the main priority.
