Sean Hudson
I’ve been a partner in the firm since 2000, and specialise in civil law acting mostly for Claimants in personal injury cases, employment cases, contract cases, consumer law and the general problems that blight us all from time to time.
I joined the firm around 20 years ago. I’m based at our Blyth Law Shop and I was previously based in Ashington and before that Newbiggin by the Sea. But my location isn’t important - because I am happy to see clients at their home address where necessary and distance or time are no bar to access to justice so far as I am concerned. I have acted for people all over the country.
For many years I’ve successfully acted for Claimants securing damages for them in cases ranging from straight forward motor accidents, trips and slips to more complicated accidents at work and on public property. I’ve had some pretty strange accident circumstances to deal with over the years so don’t be embarrassed to talk to me about yours.
I am proud of the fact that on many occasions I have taken cases to a successful recovery of damages where others have not been prepared to go. Which isn’t to say I can pull a rabbit from a hat or turn water into wine - but I can make the best of the circumstances of a case and try to get the best result I can for you. I like to get the basics right and have things in order so that as much information and fire power as possible can be brought into play.
I like to think that I have a no nonsense approach with insurers and negotiations and that means being sensible but firm and dealing with injury cases wherever it is possible to under no win no fee agreements.
It’s safe to say that over the years, Claimants under my care have recovered millions between them in compensation damages. I would like to keep adding to that figure for you too if I can.
I also represent clients at the Employment Tribunal in cases ranging from unfair dismissal to discrimination. I represent employees and employers and have close links with experienced local employment barristers dealing with appropriate cases under no win no fee arrangements.
I am married and have two daughters one making her way through university and the other making her way through school and next college. Our house is like a zoo with hens, dogs, tortoises, fish, a rabbit….. It’s more like an ark than a house. Thankfully my wife looks after most of them and lets me get on with work!
When I’m not a work I like to get away to the Yorkshire Dales most weekends to walk, eat and drink – well it would be rude not to drink a little too!
