County court judgments

If you have been unable to pay debts that you owe, the companies you owe money to can take court action against you. If you still fail to pay, you may receive a county court judgment (CCJ).

A CCJ will be sent to you by post and will detail how much you owe and the amount you must pay. It will also explain whether you need to pay in full or in instalments, along with the deadline for payment and details of who you must pay. It’s important not to ignore CCJs. If you do it may lead to further court action and could seriously affect your future credit ratings.

Receiving a CCJ can be worrying but we are here to explain what the documents mean and what steps you need to take next. If you are struggling to manage your debts, we can help you put a plan in place to take control of your finances.

If you have received a county court judgment and would like help or advice, call one of our experienced debt solicitors on 01388 881 611 to talk about your situation. With our free initial assessment promise, you can get answers to your immediate questions before deciding what action to take.
