Aled was a partner in the firm of Geoffrey Morris and Ashton (now Hopleys GMA) for some 14 years having started work as an Articled Clerk with us after obtaining his Law degree from Aberystwyth University. Upon qualifying as a Solicitor, within a short time he became a Partner. Aled spent the whole of his Legal career with our Practice and for much of that time combined his role with his role as a Councillor.
Aled was an extremely talented Lawyer who cared deeply about his clients and was a formidable Advocate in their defence, particularly for those he believed were subject to an injustice. He was passionate about his country, his language, and his community.
It was a loss to the legal profession when he decided he could no longer combine his legal career with his career in politics. He chose to follow his passion and, upon becoming Leader of Wrexham Council he ended his career as a High Street Solicitor. The staff and partners wish to pass their sincere condolences to his family on his untimely passing.
Senior Partner Mark Davies added “ I worked with Aled for the whole of his legal career and whilst our careers have taken different paths, he was my friend and partner for 15 years. His loss is felt, particularly by those of us in the practice who worked closely with him for many years. During this time, I had the privilege of being, best man at his wedding to Llinos. I shared many happy times with Aled both professionally and personally, I will treasure those memories. I know that his love of his Country, his community , the Welsh language, and the numerous societies he supported was only exceeded by his love for his family. It is to all his family I wish to extend my personal and heartfelt condolences.
