Property Relocation Deal
QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright acted for a national building services and engineering contratcor that launched its West Midlands operations from Birmingham. The firm acted for the client in the grant of a lease on a large business park. The client's requirements were to complete the transaction within a very tight timescale. While the deal was not overly complicated the pressure of meeting a set deadline in order to allow contractors and employees to enter the office space was strong. We completed the transaction to the satisfaction of our client and their employees.
If you are an entrepreneur, inventor, writer or artist it is advisable to invest in intellectual property rights as this prevents work from being copied by others. It covers extensive rights of control owned initially by creators of novel designs, names, commercial processes, website pages, computer software even sounds and smells, amongst many other ideas. QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright can advise you on how to protect your brand name, designs and inventions and exploit these commercially.
Trademarks
Brand identity and business products should be protected through trade mark registration. Parkinson Wright solicitors have experience in dealing with all aspects of trade mark registration.
Patents
A patent prevents others from copying, manufacturing, selling and importing your invention without your permission. The patent also allows you to sell the invention, licence the invention but retain IP rights and to discuss the invention with others enabling a business to be set up based around the invention.
We will protect your rights and liaise with any third parties.
Copyrights
We provide legal advice on managing intellectual property of a product and this is a valuable asset, preventing others from copying it in the same product area it was protected in.
An acquisition is where a company will buy a majority shareholding interest in another company or purchases selected assets. It is essential to have a lawyer acting on your behalf to undertake due diligence, pursue enquiries and negotiate valuable contractual rights in order to finalise the agreement and lead you through the legal complexities of the matter.
A merger is one or more companies combining to form one large company. Our lawyers can act on your behalf and liaise with other lawyers to find the best possible solution for your business.
Hotel Deal
QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright acted for a client on the acquisition of an established Cotswold Hotel and a refinance of another hotel in Worcestershire.
This was a complex transaction involving debt funding from a Bank and investment from a major pension scheme. If there is any business sector that needs specialist legal services more than any other, it probably agriculture and aquaculture. It is trite but true that farmers are the custodians of the rural environment, but in addition to law of general application such as employment, legislation now not only covers the specialised forms of tenancy which apply to agriculture, from agricultural holdings to the custom of Evesham but also the constantly changing legal regimes for the CAP, special planning and tax regimes, comprehensive environmental legislation and food legislation. Successful farm management now requires a very high degree of professional skills as well as the love of the farming life and experience. It needs the support of specialised legal expertise to obtain the best outcomes from a range of the difficulties which inevitably will arise in agricultural work, and QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright can offer a unique mix of technical skills, often at the leading edge, in this subject area.
QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright prides itself in acting for a number of schools both in the Independent and State Funded Sectors. To view the full list of services we provide for Education click here.
