Treatment
If you suspect that you have sepsis you must act FAST.
Patients with Sepsis should be treated with IV antibiotics within an hour if sepsis is suspected; unfortunately reports are highlighting that this is not always happening and lives are being put at risk.
Research reveals that a quarter of patients are not treated soon enough and if treatment is delayed it can lead to septic shock, amputation, organ failure and death.
It has been reported that the Sepsis Trust estimates that there are approximately 250,000 cases of Sepsis every year in the UK and unfortunately, from this number, over 50,000 deaths.
Take Action
Have you or a family member had the misfortune of contracting Sepsis? Do you think the diagnosis and subsequent treatment was delayed causing you or them long term health damage or even, sadly, death?
