Dame Hannahs
Dame Hannahs provides learning, care, support and fun for children and adults with a range of disabilities. They offer professional support from their therapists, educationalists, expert medical staff and a care team.
In 1925 and after much modernisation, Hannahs opened one of the UK’s first orthopaedic hospitals at Ivybridge. Some 30 years later, they were the first to open a school for children with Cerebral Palsy. Since then they have enriched the lives of more than 500 disabled children and their families annually. In 2008, they saw a need for young adults with disabilities. As a result they opened Hannahwood; a transition programme for 19-25yr olds. Hannahwood supports students choice to live independently in specially adapted, bright and modern bungalows.
Last years some of us visited Dame Hannahs school at Ivybridge ans we were incredibly impressed at the work they do there. So much so we supported Dame Hannahs in a number of ways including make a wills week and during Devon County Show. We will continue to support them and hope you will all help us to do this.
