Quality Manager at Quality Solicitors

QualitySolicitors Head Office wishes to appoint a confident and personable Quality Manager to report directly to the Head of Risk and Compliance. This is a full time role and there is a requirement to attend the Head Office in Leicester 2 days a week. The remainder of the week can be based from home.

QualitySolicitors was founded in 2008. The company officially launched in May 2009 as an internet-based alliance of independent law firms in the United Kingdom. In May 2010 the original member law firms began to rebrand under the QualitySolicitors name and the first 15 branded locations were launched that year, rising to 50 locations by November 2010.

In October 2011, QualitySolicitors announced a major investment in the company by private equity firm Palamon Capital Partners, who secured a majority stake. Currently, QualitySolicitors is offering expert legal advice across 100 high street locations across the UK.

In August 2014, Palamon Capital bought The Simplify Group expanding their footprint in the legal sector. Earlier this year, Evident Legal was added to the group offering online solutions to consumers and SMEs. QualitySolicitors Head Office wishes to appoint a confident and personable Quality Manager to report directly to the Head of Risk and Compliance. The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Risk and Compliance with delivering the Quality and Compliance Strategy for the QualitySolicitors Network. The role holder will be the day to day contact for any complaints, conduct quality assessments on firms wishing to join the network, and regular quality assurance reviews of firms already in the network.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Assessment of prospective Partner Firms including obtaining client feedback, and liaising with the firm to obtain information for the assessment process
  • Reporting to the Management Team on the suitability of prospective firms.
  • Conducting on-going assessment of existing partner firms, including obtaining client feedback and monitoring compliance in accordance with our Quality Assurance Promises
  • Manage any complaints received regarding Partner Firms and QualitySolicitors
  • Provide education around complaints and compliance to partner firms with Head of Risk and Compliance
  • Support the Head of Risk and Compliance in the provision of training for Partner Firms, including organising the Annual Compliance Conference and other Regional Events
  • Attend Partner Firm Events
  • Manage the mystery shopping project which includes calling all QualitySolicitors branches twice a year
  • Manage quality assurance on all customer calls received at the head office and handled by our customer contact team.

Skills required

  • Efficient administrator and time manager
  • High energy levels and flexible approach to working
  • Understanding of the regulatory structure of the legal profession and an aware of the code of conduct
  • Understanding of the internal Complaints process within Partner Firms
  • Knowledge of the legal sector regulators processes surrounding complaints
  • Ability to understand and work to deadlines and pressure from other parts of the business
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team and provide sensible solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good level of experience and confidence in using MSOffice in particular word, excel and powerpoint packages

Educational requirements

  • Educated to degree level, with a legal or further business qualification an advantage

Experience requirements

  • 5 years experience in the law firm compliance preferable
