    First Time Buyers are still eligible for Stamp Duty relief on purchases up to £300,000. Therefore, the purchase of a property with a value of up to £300,000 would result in absolutely no Stamp Duty being paid. If a First Time Buyer purchases a property between £300,000 and £500,000 there is no Stamp Duty to be paid on the first £300,000 however, they will have to pay the standard 5% on the remaining amount.

    Sally Challen was convicted of murdering her husband in June 2010. Her lawyers asked the Court of Appeal to reduce the conviction to manslaughter.

    On Thursday 28th February 2019, the Court of Appeal quashed the murder conviction and announced that there would be a re-trial.
