You might feel that you are being prevented from maintaining a healthy relationship with your children and excluded from decisions involving them. It’s common for parents to disagree about child arrangements - in just the last quarter of 2018, the Ministry of Justice received 12,000 child arrangement cases.[1]

The common view of nuptial agreements, whether pre-nups or post-nups, is that they’re contracts drawn up by celebrities or the ultra-wealthy when they marry someone with far fewer assets, in order to leave their spouse high and dry in the event of a break-up. Sometimes this is true, and it’s certainly possible to quibble with the way nuptial agreements have been used by some – but it doesn’t have to be this way and, often, nuptial agreements are something else entirely.

Read more...This week Sir James Munby, the head of the family court, stated that consideration should be given to the process of divorce being dealt with by a “registrar of births, deaths, marriages and divorce” rather than by Judges and for there to be an introduction of “no-fault” divorce. The comments, which also included suggestions that the injustice faced by cohabiting couples should be tackled, come on the back of the reform of the family justice system which came into effect on 22nd April which brought into being the single Family Court.
