Estimates:
When we tell you the price of a piece of work (next stage or full case), the uncertain nature of some more complex types of case may mean that we can’t be certain what will crop up. Here the price given will be an estimate rather than a definite quote. However, you can be sure that we’ll base it on the best information we have, and will update the estimate as your case progresses.Payments to others:
There are usually charges you have to pay to others in addition to the cost of our work. These charges are sometimes referred to as disbursements. They vary by the type of case but can include court fees, enquiry fees, government taxes & duties and expert witness fees. These are likely to be the same whichever law firm you use. Whilst we can’t guarantee the level of these charges of others (as they’re beyond our control) - the difference with QualitySolicitors is that we will always give you clear information about them.‘No win no fee’ agreements:
Where we act on this basis the price we give you will be the % of your compensation you will pay us towards the cost of our work. With these agreements not only do we guarantee that you will not pay us any more for our work than the agreed % but you also have the extra reassurance that if you do not win compensation, you will not need to pay us anything for our work.Refund from your opponent:
Where your case involves a dispute, we will let you know if your case is one where if you win then it may be possible to claim back some of your legal costs from your opponent. There are strict court rules over how much they will have to pay. Every case is different and we’ll use all our expertise to help you claim back as much of your legal costs as possible.Urgent legal action:
Occasionally, we may need to take urgent legal action to protect your position. If this happens we will of course try to contact you first. However if we can’t contact you this will be an exception to our guarantee as we’ll not be able to tell you the charges in advance; naturally we promise to always act in your best interests.Legal expense insurance:
We may need to ask you about home & motor insurance policies and credit cards. This is to see if you have legal expense cover (which you may not even know about) that can be used for some types of case. If there is cover, we will try to activate it in order to give you even more protection.Exceptions:
We’ve developed our Clear Price Guarantee because we genuinely believe that it’s a fairer way of providing our legal services to our customers. We promise to be open and transparent with you. Of course fairness works best when it works both ways; we promise to stand by our Clear Price Guarantee as long as you act honestly and reasonably in co-operating with us bringing your case and do not deliberately mislead us.Clear price guarantee – mediation option:
It’s very important to us that our customers are satisfied with the transparent way we present our charges. Therefore, if you think we’ve got it wrong or disagree with a charge for our work that appears on your bill we’ll review it with you. If we think independent mediation would help and is appropriate we’ll even offer to arrange this and pick up the cost of the session with a trained mediator (who is not a solicitor) and the basis we’ll both agree with any agreement reached. This is just another way in which we are fair to our customers.
