Do special rules apply to buying a newly built or off-plan property?

Some special rules do apply and any purchase of a new build or converted property can have tight deadlines. As a buyer you will usually be asked to pay a reservation deposit that will be lost if you fail to exchange contracts within 28 days. You may also be required to pay the builder’s document fees on completion.
