What is Collaborative Law - could it help with the arrangements for the children?

Collaborative Law is a process where both you and your partner have your own specially trained family lawyer with you. Their role is to guide and support you through the process – hopefully to an agreement (this differs from mediation where the mediator is independent). Both you and your partner give a written commitment which commits you to the process – you cannot instruct your solicitor to begin legal proceedings whilst in the process.
The Collaborative Law approach often helps separating couples to resolve disputes in a more constructive way. It is usually quicker than the normal court process and is therefore less expensive.
